Well happy halloween, I hope all is well with you. Now that it is almost November I thought I would move to a topic of great enjoyment, Thanksgiving. I know that the world doesn’t see much in this holiday, which is evident when going to stores seeing Christmas items. What ever happened to the Thanksgiving celebration? It seams that it is overlooked so much today, even though it is so important. I don’t know about you but I love Thanksgiving. I love the food so much and it really makes me start to think of what should I make for this Thanksgiving. Last year I took the cream puffs from last post. I think that I should try something different, but I am not exactly sure what it should be. I first thought about pumpkin pie, but found that to be a very daunting task to make. So I am still looking for ideas. If you have any ideas or would like to share with us some of your favorite memories about Thanksgiving or even what your family does on the holiday. I know that many families do different things, so it would be neat to see what yours does.
One thing I think we need to remember about this holiday is what it is all about. Yes it is about food and about the pilgrims and the native americans but there is so much more. It is about giving thanks to God for all the blessings that he has provided for you and your family. I challenge you to sit down and write down 10 things that God has done or provided for you this past year. It could be, like for me, that he allowed me to purchase my first house. I know it was not on my part but on his grace that I was able to find it, and I thank him every day for it. So how about you? May be as simple as your health, even though that isn’t very simple but we take forgranted these little things. So how about you do something different this year and not just think of Thanksgiving as another holiday to eat but as a time to reflect on the past year and give thanks to how much God has blessed you. Have a wonderful rest of the day and I hope to hear from some of you.
God bless,
Gross out!
